I don't know that I've seen anyone who owns both. You might ask Mike Dzurko how they stack up. They're pretty straight about stuff like that.

The Sapphire and Jaguars are supposed to be voiced alike. Only the Sapphire comes shielded. Though with the sloped face, it might be tricky to set up as a center -- a bit narrower vertical sweet spot. The releatively small size of the Emerald makes it particularly attractive for use as a center. The Emerald uses a high end Vifa tweeter, the Sapphires & Jags use ScanSpeak -- same company. If you've got a good sub and plan to use the bass management in your electronics, the Emeralds are really sweet. Kinda depends on your budget too. I'd rather have a Titan (or Quake) and 5 Emeralds than go without a sub.

BTW I've seen the plans for the Jaguars, they are definitely challenging, sloped front and "pyramid" sides. Compound miters at odd angles. Tuned port. The Sapphires just have the sloped front with a donut brace. They have a foam "stuffed" port. The Emeralds are pretty straight forward boxes with a rectangular port.

You might check out my article at the ACI DIY Showcase on bulding the Emeralds and Titan. Frankly I think the assembled prices are pretty reasonable too. I get off on the woodworking though. Now that I've heard them, I wouldn't be afraid to buy the assembled speakers -- especially in light of the return policy.

In any event, give ACI a try. They are special people with great products.
