BookShelf Speaker and SubWoofer

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98):

I am in the market of replacing my floorstanding
Polk Audio speakers with a pair of smaller bookshelf
speakers, does anyone have any recommendations?

I need them to go with my surround sound systems.

I may also need to get a sub-woofer.

My total budget is about $500 to $800.
