I've been using an NHT system for quite a while now: main L&R are SuperZeros; C is a VS1.2a. Until yesterday I used an SW2P as the sub. If you go this route, I suggest that you go read Corey Greenburg's original Stereophile review of this setup. He recommends bi-amping along with high-pass filtering the satellites. I did this. It makes an even bigger difference than I expected from his article.

I've just upgraded the sub to an M&K MX-125. It's more musical than the NHT, has deeper bass extension, tighter and cleaner bass, and a MUCH higher price tag!

You should really check out the SuperZeros. There's no need to sacrifice size for quality sound!
