Hi there,
I just added a wharfedale 12" sub to my system after going thru all the bose bashing here.I was hoping for a major increase in bass but was disappointed with the results (bose am-10+kenwood kc-x1 and km-x1)

issues :

1. the bass was nowhere near the bose o/p..i was wondering if the sub is not good..all my connexions are ok.taken at line level..tried the phase switch also..freq crossover set to highest..
Only after 6 hrs of continous music the sub started giving out some sound..but still nowhere near the bose.the sub is supposed to give 150 watts..i am just wondering .is this bcos its new and will take some time to loosen up ??

2. this sub has a auto switch off feature..if it does not get any music signal for sometime it goes into the standby mode..
problem -> at low volume (-25db) the damn sub switches off..but at the same vol..i get good bass from the am-10..

do u think its a prob with the sub..or shud i give it some more time..i am more worried about the first point..

on the positive side -

At very loud vol ,i get good bass (not louder than bose..but flat) and i noticed that it is improving by the hour.somehow my am-10 sounds much cleaner now.

i am wondering if i shud return the sub or wait for somemore time (i picked it up for just $166..they have just been introduced in HongKong so promotional price. )

wud appreciate ur comments before taking a decision.

thanks,
Sudhir
