no my kc-x1 does not have any controls for bass mgmt except the tone controls.
(i bought this receiver before i found this site..am still cursing my luck)

i've tried all the combo's but still no improvement.

combo1 (current) -

i am using line level outputs from preamp (KC-X1) and passing to sub and then from there to the amp(km-x1).I've put the crossover to max ..i.e 170hz ..this way the bose AM mod is not producing any bass.

combo2 - i use the sub-out from kc-x1..but there the two bass units dont match...tried the phase switch also but no use.

combo 3 (not yet tried)..take speaker level inputs on the sub...will try tomorrow & let u know the results.

but does a new sub actually perform better after 100-200 hrs of playing ???
