If more people listened with thier ears...

This is response to the long string down the way about if more people listened with their ear and not their eyes...well kind of a response.

A sysop said at the end of his post "If more people listened with their ears than their eyes, LP playback and tube electronics would make a comeback." I would ask are you listening with your heart? maybe a little nostalgia. I think that everyone has something in their life that colors their choices and tastes and that influences what they buy. But what is more important than what you have is: do you enjoy it? Do you put in a piece of music and get goose bumps, because it makes you happy just to hear it. So many people spend so much time choosing that they forget why they started.

I am a poor college student so I own a Denon 2700 with a set of Paradigm Titan speakers and you know what? I bet I listen more to my system than most people on this forum, now I am not bragging. (I probably have more free time)

I just want to express my opinion that maybe we should all step back and say "Do I like what I have? Does it sound good to me?" If the answer is yes. Maybe you don't need that new sub woofer or those new cables, and instead of spending time on the Internet asking witch cables are better or demanding that that subwoofer is crap, maybe you should go sit down in that recliner, put in that favorite CD, or record or tape, and just appreciate the art and the beauty.

But that is just my opinion...
