Hi,

I'd like to echo Steve's advice. "Home Theatre In A Box" systems are usually pretty bad, with the possible exception of the Yamaha packages.

Why not start with high-quality (budget) Dolby Surround receiver such as a Yamaha or Harman Kardon and just a front pair of loudspeakers - some small Tannoy for example. You may just be able to get both with careful shopping.

What you'll have is the grounds for an excellent system which you can build upon when funds allow. In the future add a matching centre, then the rears and then a sub-woofer. You'll be able to enjoy your system every step along the way.

Also, read the article linked to below - it may be of some help when prioritising.

Stuart.
