this may seem radical
but it is the easy solution
take a 3 prong to two prong adaptor to your sub
it wont be grounded but it will eliminate the hum
or cut off the third ground plug from your plug in
there is nothing wrong with your sub
although i would suggest gettting a better sub when and if money is available
try a cheap pdr8 or 10" from paradigm
or something comparable
youll be happy
