Stuart,

First thanks for taking the time to answer my questions... I hope I can take up just a little more of your time...

>>If your sub-woofer is carefully integrated using the low-level outputs<<

I'm using Monster 400 Mk II RCA
interconnects for all my connections. Speakers connected with Monster (I think 16 guage) wire.

My connections are: OUT of pre-amp L&R main - IN of sub - OUT of sub - IN of amplifier... speaker terminals to speakers (Advent's: freq resp down to 45 Hz). This is a low-level (line-level) connection... right? Is this "carefully integrated"?

>>you probably won't notice any difference whatsoever by changing to high-level<<

Just so I understand the connections involved here... I would connect my pre-amp to my amp with the RCA connects then from the amp's speaker terminals to the sub's with speaker wire then out of sub to speakers with speaker wire... right?

>>Unless in doing so you run through the high-pass (low-cut) filter in the sub-woofer<<

Are you making a reference to the high-level connection here? I'm not 100% positive... but I think my sub utilizes the built in high pass crossover (fixed at 85Hz) with either connection.
If this is true... You don't recommend one over the other?

I'm a little confused with the adjustable low pass crossover... is this just a personal preference thing? Should it be set around the 85Hz setting? Slightly above or below it? I understand that the high pass crossover doesn't let frequencies below 85Hz go to your mains... what does the low pass crossover do???

Thanks again for your time and knowledge... I'm sure I'll hit you with a couple more Q's.
Tom
