The DC-1 performs a A/D & D/A conversion on all inputs, even for the "2 channel" effect or while in effect bypass. The only way to bypass the conversions is to use the record/zone 2 outputs.

This, in my opinion, is one of the DC-1's greatest shortcomings. It really hurts those of us who have large analog (read vinyl) collections.

To listen to them through the DC-1, you'll have to either configure your player to downconvert the data to 48k (most players do this by default) and use the digital output or live with the extra conversions. I think there are several of us hoping that the next surround processor (whatever it's called and whenver it appears) will be able to handle the bandwidth. This isn't a trivial task, as Lexicon will have to rewrite all of their algorithms to support the higher sample rate.
