Does the DC-1 convert analog inputs into digital?

Living with the extra conversions is not really an option. Any benefit to be gained from 24/96 material would surely be lost in the extra conversion steps. In any event we are unlikley to see much material in the DVD Audio spec for some time (think of all the recording studios that will need converting) and it has not yet been determined what mode of digital connection will be used for 24/96, as the SPDIF format was not designed for 24/96 streams. The recent Chesky and Classic Records stuff in 24/96 are actually discs complying with the DVD Video format and have 24/96 PCM tracks
