Denon 5000 DVD and DC1

It'll certainly play through, either with the DC-1's analog or digital inputs . With the analog in's, they get scrambled back to digital and decoded once again by the DC-1's (solid) DAC's. Nevertheless an unnecessary analog-digital-analog conversion. U lose HDCD as well.

If U choose the digital inputs, U don't need to do anything if U play CD's (exceot U also lose HDCD since the DC-1 isn't so endowed); with DVD-Audio, U need to downsample to 48kHz. Great, but not as good as 96kHz (I think, since I've not heard properly decoded 96/24).
