Changing DC1 for AVP

I think Philip makes a very good point. The DC-1 is due to be upgraded in the early part of 1999 - why not wait to see what is offored? By seeing what is in the Lexicon upgrade works you might avoid a decision you may later regret. I don't want to re-start the DC-1 / AVP comparison spiral but the reason I bought the DC-1 is because Lexicon has a very good reputation of being in both in the technological forefront and for considering their existing equipment owners when changes are made. You may well avoid audio "whiplash" by waiting to see what the AVP looks like next to the Lexicon as upgraded.
Another good point that has already been made is that you should carefully determine for yourself exactly what you are seeking to improve and you might also consider alternative ways of making that improvement/those improvements- in other words, don't change processors to try to make up for a perceived deficiency that really exists in another part of your system.
