The upgrade is available, but the performace increase will not be much as you can't find source material that exceeds 20 bits, much less approacing 24. There will be a numbe of upgrade options announced in January, you might want to consider all your options then.
OTOH, if the unit is being pulled out for any othe upgrade (Software, DTS etc) it wouldn't -hurt- to go to 24 bit ...
