The short answer is yes, you do have the AC-3 version. If your input options list AC-3 effect and you get 5 discrete channels, you have the AC-3 processing (you can confirm this while playing an AC-3 source--the front panel display should read AC-3).

The additional options you note in your manual were introduced in software version 1.1, which requires an upgrade via firmware chip. I believe Lexicon offers that upgrade for free. However, they have since introduced another major upgrade to version 2.01, which costs $100. It is a significant enhancement to many of the surround algorithms, and worth the nominal upgrade price.

To further complicate your life, Lexicon will be introducing several upgrade options in January, though details haven't been announced yet. If you want to hold out, it would be more economical to get the latest version at that time.
