This is an observation but Meridian I think is still manufactured in the UK and so are the Cord company products, both are highly respected....
Kef loudspeakers and B&W both reveaded the world over.

I now live in the UK and it benifits me to think as a UK citizen and try and support as mush as I can UK product, but that is getting increasinly harder to do,even trying to look at the bigger picture and think as a European, its hard to do,but I still try to make a decition to buy European as and when I can...only when something is clearly superior(DC1 for instance) or there is no viable alternaive in my price range that I shop else where.

An example of whats fustrating me now Region two DVD software,I would like to support it but early adpoters have turned ther back on it...why,they have good reason to...and coupled to the fact the local magazines normally a good source for applying pressure to manufactures have turned there back on it as if it doesn't matter instead of campaining for more and better software, letting the manufactures off the hook.
If there is no support for their product it will fall by the way side or they will produce lack luster product as is the case now, the magazines/press need to be there from day one campaining for "we" the people as is well known Media forms opinion.

If there is no manufacturing people will be forced to look else where, but if there are no jobs because of no industry where is the money going to come from to buy the products from else where? all import no export equals recesion....just a little of my fustations.
