Joel,

: Meridian, B&W and Rotel (at the low end) all are substantial innovators in their own way. I am surprised you are writing off all the Queen's Companies that way!

Mmm… B&W maybe. Meridian was beginning to creak until MLP came along and they were pricing themselves out of the market. Plus their customer service was/is a disaster. Rotel are a Japanese company if I'm not mistaken.

Sure, there are some good companies still around, but just compare our market to the American scene. There are literally dozens of excellent loudspeaker manufacturers for example - who do we have? Tannoy, B&W, Mission (perhaps, when they decide to put bracing in their cabinets) and Warfedale who, going by the latest samples can't even get a sub-woofer to work!

There are always good and bad examples, but most of the bad ones seem to come from English companies.

Stuart.
