I had the same problem with the Theater Master 9000. A call to the folks that make the unit resulted in a solution. You simply "learn" some dummy codes (from an unused remote) into the device selection buttons. The learned "dummy" codes effectively disable the macros and cause the device selection buttons to serve as selection buttons only. It works great and the 9000 is way less than the Marantz.
