Hi Andrew,

The version 1 software was not any noisier than the upgrade. Definitely have this checked at the time of the upgrade.

In the meantime, have you checked your system for a ground loop problem? Sounds suspiciously like one. These can be intermittent and difficult to track down. One place to start is disconnecting your cable tv wire and see if the hiss goes away. If so, the problem isn't the DC-1 but in the overall grounding path of your system. There are a couple of strategies you can use to correct it.

Good luck,
Philip Brandes

: I've only been using my Lexicon DC-1 for a couple of weeks, but one
thing I noticed right away is the annoyingly loud hiss output I hear on
all 5 of my speakers (no sub yet). My system has 1.0 software on it.

: When I turn on my amps, I can walk around to each of the speakers and
hear a small, normal amount of hiss from the distortion in the amps.
However, once I power on the Lexicon, this hiss increases close to 10
fold! This just does not seem right. My previous NAD audio preamp, and
current McIntosh audio preamp do not amplify the hiss at all.

: Is something not set right in my Lexicon? The hiss is unchanged as I
adjust the volume on the Lexicon.

: The unit is new and under warranty. I plan to take it in this week for a
software upgrade. Should I have this problem looked at as well? Or is
the
problem fixed in the later software?
