Subwoofer levels: How do you do it?

Here is a simpler answer to your question than the one I just posted, but I think works just as well:

Again, start with a well calibrated system, center setting "large", and center subwoofer at it's minimal output position. Put on some music which you enjoy and are very familiar with and set the DC-1 mode to one which you favor. (That's Music Surround for me). Have someone very slowly increase the center sub's volume until the system sounds the best to you. Actually, I think I favor this method!
