The 9000 way less than the Marantz? I would venture to say that for something as critical as AV system control, a mere 200 to 250 bucks is not a lot of money. Now, were we talking about a price differential in the thousands for a product, I would agree, but we are not.

To compromise anything in system control to save a 100 bucks is simply a bad decision if you use your Home Theater a lot as I do.

I own the Sony RM-AV2000 and the RC-2000 Mark 2. The Marantz IMO is simply the best availble short of Crestron or the like. Regarding the new touchscreen remotes, its been said before. Who wants something they have to fiddle with so closely for simplistic A/V functions. Nothing like a fully lit keypad with buttons when the lights are low.

The 9000 may be a great remote, but don't settle for it because its a 100 bucks less. Buy what suites you the best if you can afford it at all.
