I just switched from NHT to Von Schweikert. I was using 1.5's for fronts w/ AC1 center, and I demoed at home a pr. of HDP 2's. In my room, 24x13, the surround was totally inadequate. Now, as side fillers in a 7 sp. setup where you have near full frequency response in the rears, the HDP2 may work fine. But they tried to replace a small Boston Accoustic monopole in a 5 sp. setup and just couldn't deliver the detail. I agree w. Les, if possible, get a pr. of 2.5i's for the rears (or for the fronts and move the 1.5's to the rear w. a sub fill) I have now a pr. of VR4's in front, and VR 2100 in the rear and I can't believe how much rear bass information I missed all the time w. my old setup.
