Speaker Pop

I just replaced my Citation 7.0 with a Lexicon DC-1 DD/DTS. In order to use my Citation amps I used the trigger on the back of the Lex. Turning on is fine, however, when I turn the system off I get a somewhat loud "popping" noise from the speakers. Does this hurt and is there a way to rid this problem?
