Hi, Larry

I would actually recommend option 3: do your video switching at the monitor and your audio switching at the DC-1. This is what I found works best in my system.

The advantages are that you get the best possible video from your respective sources.

The disadvantage, as you point out, is that it's more complex to do it this way. However, if you get one of the learning remotes with macro capability on the market, you might be able to program a one-button sequence that will switch both the DC-1 qand the monitor to the appropriate sequence.

Whether or not this will work will depend on your monitor--does it (1) only sequence through your inputs relative to the last one selcted, (2) have discrete buttons for each input, or (3) allow you to select one (e.g. cable) through a fixed button and then cycle through the other inputs in the same sequence each time?

If 2 or 3 of the above, you can program source selection with a macro, I think this gives you the best of both worlds.

Good luck,

Philip Brandes
