Another Pop sound question

I have a question, on some DD DVD's, but not all it seems, when you start the disc, and it starts off at the default sound mode, Logic 7 for me, and then switches to DD, a loud and annoying popping sound (for lack of a better descriptive term) occurs. Is this normal? I recall back someone mentioning this occurs w/ DTS discs as well and has something to do w. locking onto the signal. (I don't have DTS so I can't comment as to whether this has been addressed) Any way to avoid this? And is this possibly fixable by Lexicon?...Buzz?
