No. What he means is if you have a DC-1 input you're not using (such as AUX) you can assign that input to always use a DTS effect, and also assign it to the same coax input as your regular A310 input (VDISC most likely). That way, when you play a DTS disc, select AUX instead of the usual input, and the DC-1 will automatically swithc to DTS effect without analyzing the signal.
