I need help with DC-1 video switching Posted by Philip Brandes [IP: 205.188.193.33] on December 31, 1998 at 20:44:58: In Reply to: I need help with DC-1 video switching posted by Brion Frost on December 31, 1998 at 18:11:21: Brion - The blue screen is normal--when the DC-1 receives a weak or nonexistent video signal for an input, it outputs a blue screen as an aesthetic courtesy and to protect your monitor from the video noise that can accompany a weak signal. This blue screen can be defeated by selecting the DC-1 input a second time. Additional selections toggle the blue screen on and off. Your problem, as you suspected, is you're connecting both the DC-1 and the LD to the Pioneer's Video 1 input. Getting two signals, the Pioneer defaults to the S-Video. Does your Pioneer support multiple inputs? The simplest solution is to hook the LD up to Video2. You will have to change both the Pioneer and the DC-1 inputs when you watch LD. I automate this process with a programmable remote macro. Your only other recourse is to use an S-Video switchbox. I think MSB and Entech make them. Good luck, Philip Brandes
