12 Volt Trigger

Several audiophiles have recommended to me that I just leave my DC-1/DTS and Lexicon(/Bryston) power amps on for better performance...apparently the power amps take a while to properly heat up for optimal performance. So, doesn't that make the whole idea of the trigger a moot (I almost typed mute), if not useless, feature?
