DC-2 "Hope List"

You are correct, individual's response to the sound of a particular pre/pro is important, but not the only reason to purchase one. I do not have the technical electronic knowledge that many in the forum have but for the average JOE (frank in this case) I look for the "best bang for the buck" and to me it is a combination of sound, speaker management, a/v control and upgradeability (can't afford a $5k processor every time a new audio/video format arrives).

The Casa Nova looks to me like it has good upgradeability and if it sounds half as nice as the Casablance it will put this pre/pro in the larceny category at $4.1K. I don't know that the DC-2 will give me the same warm fuzzy feeling that I get when I look at the Theta Casa Nova if it costs above $5k. It just seems that the market the DC-1 has captured will dissipate if the only way it can compete functionally with the 561, Theatre Grand, Casa Nova and AVP is by jumping to the $7k price category. Let me know if I am completely off my rocker.
