CasaNova's technically have not shipped either.

Keep in mind we are talking about a DC-1 long term continuing at the $5k price point once a DC-2 is announced. The competition by then will probably be even harder.

I think ACT-III was an exception to the rule of early announcement.

I will admit though, that companies that don't have an existing preamp out there don't have to worry about sales dropping off on an existing product. That is, it does not hurt them much to announce early.

More rambling:

Actually now that I think about it. Since CasaNova is in such a different price range theta probably felt it was safe to announce early. If the DC-2 was to co-exist with the DC-1 at a high price I'll bet it would of been announced by now (why not steal some of those 861 and Casablanca orders). But if it's a $5k replacement unit the only orders they would be stealing is their own. Just a random thought.
