I agree- if you can get a dc-1 at a major discount (they are almost all gone I hear) I think its worth it. However, just like Sanjay, I havent heard the Dennon reciever you have. I can tell you that before I got my dc-1 I had a b&k 2030 dolby digital preamp and the b&k av5000 amp. I heard a dc-1 and was very surprised to hear such a difference. I traded in the b&k 2030 for the dc-1. I thought I'd be the only one to notice the difference but my fiancee and my friends all said they noticed a major difference (this is before I told them I had a new processor- they arent into this stuff). You'll be surprised that the dc-1 does such a good job with dolby prologic surround steering- it almost makes it like 2 discrete surround channels.

Go and have a listen to it- it will amaze you. If you can get a good price on the dc-2, its newer/better but if you can get a much lower price on a loaded dc-1 and you dont need more than (i think its) 3 s-video inputs and 2 coax digital and 2 optical digital inputs then the dc-1 is a better option (in my opinion). it will cost $300 if you want to upgrade the software in the dc-1 to version 3.0- and you get a funky remote with that too.
