I have heard the Denon (and many other Denon's for that matter). As far as receivers go most of them aren't really to my liking, but the 5700 is one of the better ones and is in the top half dozen receivers one could purchase.

But…

The Lexicon is in another league.

This is not an unbiased forum within which to ask your question, but the people here have followed similar upgrade paths. Most of us are familiar with good receivers and most of us own Lexicon DC-1s. Draw your own conclusions. ;-)
