I agree with you. Lexicon has a list of people who purchased their DC-1 new and can therefore tell who is entitled to upgrade vs. who isn't.
Also, Lexicon has authorized their stocking dealers who still have new DTS DC-1's to sell them for $2500.00!
The value of my DC-1 just dropped out the bottom. I can't afford to "upgrade" my DC-1 to the DC-2 by selling it! I am probably going to keep the DC-1 and the external S video switcher, etc. until the dust settles. The competition in the marketplace coupled with the low prices on used DC-1's may influence Lexicon to want to have us trade our DC-1's directly in to Lexicon to prevent further dilution in the marketplace. To keep their dealers happy, Lexicon could issue certificates good toward the purchase of a MC-1 from the dealer of our choice.
Oh well, I was interested to see what other owners were thinking and I'm glad to see I'm not alone.
