Well, there's word here of dealers selling new DC-1s for $2,500 so I would say 2k is not a great price. Where are you located? To avoid being an advertisement here, I'll email you a number you can try to find a price.

I don't think so. I had a top of the line Harman/Kardon and listened to both the Denon and the Yamaha DSP-A1. Boy, when I got my DC-1, I didn't think I could actually hear anything more but the difference was very obvious.

I'm in the processing of moving and building a new home theater but my current one also only has 5 speakers, using Logic-7 still makes an incredible difference even without the 2 rear speakers.

You won't be diluting it.

Hey I just bought the unit recently too...so I'm probably partial :)
