Fully loaded DC-1's are going for around $2000-$2300 on the audio marketplace newsgroups. If you can find one cheaper, great, but $2K is not out of line.

You will notice a big difference from the Denon. The DC-1's very natural-sounding surround modes are nothing like the Denon's gimmicky effects.

And as others have pointed out here, Logic 7 runs circles (literally) around standard Pro-Logic--even in a 5-channel setup, you get stereo surround processing that rivals 5.1 formats.

Also consider that the upcoming software upgrade will get you the same processing as the new DC-2 and MC-1. Lexicon stands behind its products and is really committed to continued value. You won't go wrong with their equipment.
