The DC1 is still a great piece of equipment
Posted by Kris R. Young [IP: 209.109.233.99] on February 27, 1999 at 04:26:51 Looking at the posts here it seems that alot of people are upset about their DC1 being outdated. The fact is that it still sounds every bit as good as it did before we knew of the MC1 or DC2. Most of us have an addiction to audio and have experienced the inevitable value loss associated with new product introductions before.(Computers are even worse) Let's not fault Lexicon for improving their products just because we want bragging rights to the latest and greatest technology. Let's face it, having state of the art componets costs big bucks. If you really want them you'll have to pay for them. I personally think the V3 upgrade for 300 bucks is quite reasonable. I doubt I'd pay 6k for the MC1 but I would upgrade if the price was right. I love my DC1 as do all of you.(You wouldn't have bought it if you didn't) I would go as far to say that it is the only product I have purchased that I am 100% satisfied with.(Sonically that is) I have always hated the way it looks. The green stripe is awful. Thank god the MC1 has a nice blue stripe and display. I'd whine about the amber display too but it actually looks kinda' nice with my Sunfires. Anyway, this forum is great. Enjoy your Lexicons everyone. Kris
