Come to think of it, Church, Cathedral, Nightclub and Concert Hall will work with a mono signal also. Duh. I'll go stand in a corner for a while.

I don't have any experience with cable boxes - what is it about the volume control that causes such problems? One would expect any volume control to simply adjust the amplitude of the signal without lessening channel separation.
