I have the AC-3 DC-1 and asked a local dealer to check with Lexicon to see if I upgraded to dts (I'd get the V3 upgrade at no extra charge) for $500, would I reasonably expect to recoup that cost if, a month later, I upgraded to the MC-1. Their response was "No". I gather from that either there will be no distinction among DC-1 grades or that the distinction won't equal $500.

That's all I can add to this discussion.
