Mark Mains in Europe is a lot more stable than in the States, brown outs hadly ever occur, and blackout hardly ever (baring a major problem, road digging) and surges are in frequent when one happens its major news. Ups and surge and spike and brown out prouducts are virtually unheard of in these parts, only computer people use them. Your DC1 should be fine on the mains,But using tranys can have an audable effect on some equipment it may not bother things with switch mode supplys which are almost impervious to anything but things with wire wounds may suffer, like amps there are some big tranys around that can deliver lots of current. hope this helps Robert J
