Room Acoustics

There was a recent discussion on this forum regarding the optimization of room dimensions through the calculation of axial resonances. I am constructing a new media room and can be flexible with the size and shape of the room. It would seem that a room with non-parallel walls, both front-to-back and side-to-side, would be largely absent of axial resonances. Is this a valid assumption, and is so, can such a room be expected to have better acoustics than rooms with parallel walls? To what degree should the opposing walls be non-parallel in order to be effective, for example is 5 degrees sufficient? I am trying to decide whether the extra effort involved in building a room with non-parallel walls is justified. Any input is much appreciated.
