Hi Scott: I may have a slightly non-conventional approach to room acoustics. Although I understand that uncontrolled resonances can be very destructive to good sound reproduction, I also believe that a point worth recognizing, is that many, if not most, live performances take place in rooms that produce various resonances which we consider desirable as adding to the "live" performance experience. It is really only when these resonances produce effects that significantly interfere with the production of audio -certain frequencies, etc., that corrective efforts are undertaken. In a post which appeared perhaps 6 months or so ago, the point was made by Buzz Goddard that totally controlling and doing away with resonances can actually have a very sterile and undesirable effect on sound.
