DC-2 and new Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature?

IMHO, I found the Sunfire to be too smooth/smudgy in it's presentation. I know that a lot of people here use the Sunfire. I believe that it's smoothing effect complemented the slight hardness of the DC-1. I however, much preferred Bryston, as apparently does Lexicon itself. I have a 9B, and will pick up a 4B for 7-channel. Being that I got into theater, from a 2-ch background, only in the last couple of years, I realized that a) the DC-1 was nearing it's lifespan, but was banking on a good trade up policy (which I got) and b) digital movie processing, like CD 15yrs ago, suffers from a digital harshness, but that as they get better at recording, the sound will become cleaner, but with more detail, like CD is has gotten now. Taking that into account, I wanted to purchase the most resolving amps that I could, and keep them for a long time, knowing that the processor would probably change down the road, which it already has. I think the better sound reported from the MC-1 (still waiting for the trade up myself), is due in part to better processing and more DSP power. Just like CD, 5.1 is already being processed better. Movies as well are sounding and being recorded better. Basically what I'm saying is that I found the Brystons to be the best resolving amps, much better than the Sunfire, and believe that it will only help things as time goes by. Others to look at are Proceed, Classe, and though I've never heard them, David Wells really seems to like the Cinepro's, so maybe they're worth a look. Josh
