Will DCs or MC-1 work w/DVD-Audio???

The MC-1 is DVD-Audio compatible up to 24/96. As far as I understand, nothing besides the Elgar decodes at 24/192 right now. I don't know if the MC-1's DAC's are upgradeable to 192, but Lex has mentioned an add-on box that would be controlled through the RS-232 ports on the MC-1 that would reroute or decode DVD-Audio, DD 5.1 EX, switch component or firewire HDTV, or deal with any other new technologies. I feel that with the turmoil in the technologies right now, that is the best choice. Kind of like the Proceed PSV/PDSD (spelling?) or like a card cage design that has the cage external to the computer-ie periferals. Being all digital there is no signal degredation in running it through a separate box. The DC-2 is not 24/96 compatible right now, but Lexicon has said that it could be upgraded in the future like the MC-1, which would make it so. The DC-1 is not compatible, and cannot be upgraded in the furure. That is why the introduction of the DC-2, whose internals are completely different, was necessary. However, they gave us a great trade up (70% of DC-1 list credit toward MC-1) to compensate for that, and just cause they're a kick-butt great company. Josh
