Analog Bypass - Help!!

Posted by Andy [IP: 129.37.152.6] on April 13, 1999 at 11:35:05
Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows NT):

After searching through this forum I noticed several posts regarding how to configure the DC-1 to pass through "unconverted" (A-D then D-A) analog signals. My understanding was that, per the manual block diagram, that it can in fact be done, but you need to use the ZONE 2/REC outputs. I then tried to verify this with Lexicons tech support and the reply was as follows: All analog signals are converted to digital then back to analog, including those from the ZONE 2/REC outputs. This contradicts then everything I've read in this forum and what is indicated in the user manual block diagram. I pose this question so I can hook-up an external 24/96 DAC and not have its analog outputs converted back to digital then analog again in the DC-1.
I would really like a definitive answer. Thanks in advance...
