As someone said before 6.1 ex is an inferior format to what Lex can already provide. I think that Lex will, via software, allow you to select a 6 or 7 speaker setup. This would dictate that one of the two "rears" would be singled out in the setup and would be placed in the center of the rear as opposed to using a left and right rear. So, what I am envisioning (and god knows just what kind of batting average I have) is a 6 or 7 channel configuration using the existing outputs, not the 8 channel config I feel some of you are hoping for. Personally, I don't know how much info. Lex could hopefully coax out of the 5 channel with center matrix setup. Could Lexicon really do front,sides,rears, and then a center front and back out of the 5 recorded channels(the center is matrix)?

Maybe Lex will come up with something in the 8 channel range, but that would be an upgrade----- or than again maybe they could use some of the outputs from the extra rec outs they provided. :-)
