Anyone upgrade 500t to 700t?

Realistically, very few of the non-RF versions are going to be sold. What I was disagreeing with was your statement that the Lexicon remote is "a lot cheaper and just as versatile in all other areas that count." The fact is that it is not a lot cheaper to get a Lexicon 700t in the RF configuration than to get a basic Crestron system with equivalent functionality. For a relatively small percentage difference in price you get a system that can be expanded far beyond what the Lexicon remote is capable of. :Cost is an issue with remote controls I'm talking percentage difference here, not absolute cost. Anyone considering purchasing a Lexicon remote has a lot more money to work with than someone who is limited to being able to afford a Pronto. That said, the cost difference between Lexicon and Crestron is small enough that the extra expandability should be seriously considered before making a purchase. :an ST-IO or an ST PC unit that you mention is in the $400 area and these Yes, these accessories add up. However, I'm suggesting that you consider a BASIC Crestron (or AMX/PHAST) system as the comparison to a Lexicon, not a full blown system. My point is potential... :Do the math better equipment or control That's really up to the individual. Some people can afford to have the best of everything, while most of us have to make choices. :Thats why when some one gets one used I would encourge him to use, as is and My goal wasn't to make the person who bought a used 500t feel bad. My point was to refute your statement that a 700t RF costs a lot less than a Crestron or AMX/PHAST system. Keep in mind that a used Crestron system will be comparably discounted to a used Lexicon system, so the same statement will apply. :Warts and all 500t is a great unit shame about the price but if you have :ever lost a remote down the back of the sofa you would apreciate owning one even :if it did not have the conectivity of the Crestron. Wouldn't a Pronto serve this purpose just fine? The whole point of buying a high end touchscreen remote is to highly integrate your system and make it so easy to control that anyone coming into your home can use your system. Buying one to simply replace a lost remote would be overkill :). :It was not my intention to be misleading and as far as I can see I was not. I was simply trying to add my point, not offend anyone.
