DTS faced more significant obstacles. The format was (is) technically underdeveloped so release dates were always missed because all hiccups hadn't been ironed out. Cart before the horse situation. That shouldn't happen with DVD-Audio, it'll be working before titles are announced.

The second biggest obstacle for DTS music was and still is a lack of software, simply because studios have been obligated to Sony or Dolby in terms of multi-channel releases. This is why the DTS catalogue is predominantly old Quad titles or those from small labels. Licensing more than a couple of major artists to DTS is beyond the scope of their budget.
