On paper its a good Idea as you match the amp to the speaker perfectly, and powered subs and the powered "towers" are in almost all systems
(HT ones anyway)
but the truly digital amp is the next step but then the digtal speaker may NXT will step up to the plate then.

This would be the holy grail as then we would have Digital source preamp,equ,amp and speaker, and lots of cable manufactures going out of business
a good idea just round the corner considering the rate of progress
