Connection of Future Digital Amplifiers

Goerge Mills. Gotta get better security in here. Anyway Robert. The NXT speakers are not digital, unless my understanding of thier operation is completely wrong. Remember, sound is analog. the signal has to be converted eventually, so speakers will always be analog. I really don't think that with the level of equip out there today that keeping the signal digital any longer will make that much of a difference. Amps simply don't have that much distortion. Being the only thing left that hasn't been overrun by digital, I'm sure it is only a matter of time before amps turn over to the dark side. My only concern is that everything digital has limits as far as bits and hertz. With the rate that things have been advancing in that direction, I think you are really looking at a super limited lifespan for a digital component. Do you really want your speakers/amp/etc to go out of date as quickly as your computer or surround proccesor does? Josh
