Logic 7 Car System? Posted by Robert Bienstock [IP: 208.250.143.122] on January 29, 1999 at 13:32:59: Back in the '70s I had a beloved quad 8-track player in my car and, though the sound quality of 8-track was pretty poor, I've never heard better sound in a car, at least on thoes tapes that were actually mixed in quad. I may be about to purchase my first auto since those days and have, therefore, looked at car stereos for the first time in 20 years. What I've observed is that, unlike the case in the '70s, most modern car systems are multi-speaker multi-channel-amp affairs. This seems to me to be the perfect environment for some sort of multi-channel processing like Lexicon's Logic 7 (or even simple Dolby Pro-Logic). I've asked at several car audio outlets and no-one has heard of any auto system that does multi-channel processing (i.e., all those multiple speakers and amp channels are used just to get a plain stereo image in balance in various parts of the car). Is this true? Is there anything out there? Have I spotted a potential application for Lexicon's technology?
